More than 20 people were arrested, following a crime hot spots targeting operation in the east of Pretoria on Friday.
The joint effort between the Garsfontein police and private security companies, including Fidelity ADT and Brinatheld stop-and-searches in Wilgers, Faerie Glen, Garsfontein and Moreleta Park, as well as raided buildings.
The arrests were for a variety of offences, including robbery, theft and possession of illegal substances.

It was one of many such operations conducted in the area.
Fidelity ADT district manager Leon Muller described the operations as “highly successful”.
“They definitely make a difference in driving out crime in the area,” he said.
He congratulated his Pretoria special response team.
“We will continue to work with the SAPS in this regard.”
