Three men believed to be members of a gang were arrested in Soshanguve as police pounced on a Toyota Venture on Monday.
Police spokesperson Captain Stephen Maluleka said the arrest followed a tip-off to the police that a gang of five, in a white Toyota Venture, was terrorising Soshanguve community members.
The suspects were arrested in block X informal settlement on Monday morning in a vehicle without number plates.

Members of the crime prevention team reacted swiftly and three of the gang members were arrested. The other two managed to escape on foot.
“Upon receiving a tip-off, the team swiftly rushed to the identified area where they found the vehicle in question and a chase ensued where the police cornered the three suspects in block X. They were found in possession of an illegal firearm and four rounds of ammunition,” said Maluleka.
The suspects are linked to a spate of armed robberies that were reported around the community.
“At this stage of the investigation, the suspects can be linked to crimes such as possession of firearms and ammunition, armed robberies, intimidation, assault,” he said.
The suspects, aged between 26 and 40, are expected to appear in the Soshanguve Magistrate’s Court on charges of illegal possession of a firearm.
