Silverton police have vowed to show criminals in the area no mercy.
The police have joined forces with private security companies and the local CPF to come up with monthly strategies to fight crime.
“We are going all out for the criminals,” police spokesperson Captain Jan Sepato.
Sepato said the collaboration will see new strategies and methods of waging a war against criminality.
He said the initiative has been running for a few years, but will be intensified with the help of the more than nine security companies.
“The joint efforts have been yielding good results over the years, and we are looking to maximise the impact,” he said.
“Working together to fight crime is the most effective way to fight.”
He encouraged members of the community to be part of their local CPFs to be more informed about the crimes in their area.
He also said it was important that residents report any unusual or suspicious behaviour.
“If we work together, we will win against crime,” he said.
“We also thank the law-abiding citizens to continue doing the right thing.”
