A Welbekend man, caught with the carcasses of slaughtered cattle, decided not to apply for bail on Wednesday.
The 59-year-old man briefly appeared at the Welkebend periodical court, east of Pretoria, said police spokesperson Sergeant Tsietsi Lamola.
“The defense decided to abandon bail and let the state to continue with the trail,” he said.
The case was, however, remanded.

Last Thursday, local police officers spotted a Nissan bakkie along the R50 road between Bapsfontein and Bronkhorstspruit.
When the police stopped the vehicle, four men got out and fled into the bushes.
The bakkie was reportedly loaded with chunks of slaughtered cows for which the driver could not account.
Lamola said preliminary investigations found the man was also linked to 12 cases of stock theft and one case of possession of suspected of stolen goods.
The matter was postponed to Thursday when the trail will be expected to resume at the Bronkhorstspruit magistrate’s court.
A case of theft is being investigated by the police’s stock and endangered species unit.
