NEWSFLASH: R6 million worth of heroin recovered in Centurion

Police followed up on information that a man was allegedly supplying the drugs to other provinces.

The police have recovered about R6-million worth of heroin in Centurion.

Spokesperson Captain Kay Makhubela said the West Rand K9 unit officers arrested a man found in possession of drugs yesterday around 07:45.

“The intelligence-driven operation by members of West Rand K9 unit led to the recovery of heroin drugs worth approximately R6-million and the arrest of one suspect in unit 24 Okahanja Street, Centurion.”

He said the police followed up on information that a man was allegedly supplying the drugs to other provinces.

Police have been doing close observation until yesterday morning when they stopped a Toyota Corolla coming from the identified address.

“During the search of the vehicle and the suspect, police found heroin.”

He said more drugs were recovered from the suspect’s house and he would appear in Pretoria magistrate’s court on Monday.
