The Pretoria Moot CPF hosted another successful roadblock on Friday evening.
A total of eight people were arrested during the roadblock, said CPF chairperson Elsabe van Staden.
Tickets to the value of R25 500 were issued to motorists.
Van Staden said five arrests were made for driving under the influence, one was arrested for being in the possession of drugs and another person was arrested for being drunk in public.
One person was arrested for reckless and negligent driving.
“We did it again – zero tolerance in the Moot,” she said.

“You drink you sleep over, Uber, phone a friend but whatever you do not drive through our precinct when you are under the influence.”
Van Staden said during the roadblock, 22 CPF members assisted seven police officers and nineteen metro police officers.
“This kind of law enforcement will definitely be held once a month,” she said.
She thanked everyone involved in the roadblock.
“Thank you once again to my patrollers, I am so proud to be associated with only the best patrollers,” she said.
“Your hard work and dedication never go unnoticed. The other roleplayers who assisted us, thank you, we make a great team.”

In an unrelated incident, four people, between the ages 24 and 40 years old, were arrested in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
This after they were found in possession of a stolen motor vehicle and an unlicensed firearm.
According to police spokesperson Captain Anton Breedt, members of sector police were patrolling on Steve Biko Road near De Beer Street, Wonderboom South, when they spotted a silver Volkswagen Polo with four occupants.
“Members checked the vehicle and registration papers showed it was supposed to be white, which raised suspicions,” he said.
the vehicle identification number (VIN) was checked and it was found that the car was stolen earlier this month in Garsfontein, east of Pretoria.

“Men were placed under arrest, the vehicle was searched and a firearm was found under the passenger seat,” he said.
“Later, it was discovered to be a gas pistol similar to a real pistol.”
Breedt said it was believed the arrested suspects were on their way to commit a crime in the Moot area.
He said the suspects appeared in the Pretoria magistrate’s court and will stay in custody for further investigation.
Pretoria Moot station commander Colonel Giben Mashaba commended the members and officers on their good work.
