Police have arrested 107 people this weekend.
Police spokesperson Captain Colette Welbach said the arrests were made in crime prevention operations in Brooklyn, Garsfontein, Lyttelton, Sunnyside, Silverton, Pretoria Moot and Villieria policing areas.
She sai 33 people were arrested for drinking in public.
“During joint roadblock operations 18 motorists were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol,” she said.
“Three suspects were arrested for possession of housebreaking implements, another three for possession of suspected stolen goods and eight for possession of drugs during stop and search operations.”
Weilbach said a suspect was also arrested for theft of motor vehicle in Silverton and one for house breaking and theft in Brooklyn.

Other arrests were for fraud, pedestrian source of danger, theft, malicious damage to property and assault.
“All the arrested will appear in the Hatfield Community and Pretoria Magistrate’s Courts on Monday.”
Weilbach said police would continue with intensified measures to fight crime.
She urged members of the community to assist the police by taking responsibility in safeguarding their property and reporting any suspicious behaviour to 10111.
