More than 90 wanted people were arrested in the Pretoria CBD during ‘Operation O Kae Molao’ on Friday evening.
Police spokesperson Captain Kay Makhubele said the operation, led by District Commissioner, Major General Daniel Mthombeni, focused mostly on drunk driving and suspects wanted for serious crimes such as robbery, hijackings, possession of unlicensed firearms, dealing in drugs and murder.
“Police closed nine liquor outlets in Tshwane for non-compliance with the Liquor Act, two suspects were arrested for murder and police recovered a firearm with five ammunition believed to have been used during the commission of crime in Tshwane CBD last week,” he said.

“Furthermore, four suspects were arrested for dealing in drugs, two were found in possession of eleven ammunition.”
He said the flex law enforcement agencies in Littleton arrested two people for driving recklessly, and recovered one unlicensed firearm in their possession.
The arrested suspects will appear in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
Gauteng Commissioner Lieutenant General Elias Mawela commended the police officers for their efforts.
