Ga-Rankuwa police are concerned about the number of robberies happening at the local mall’s toilets.
The attackers were terrorising the unsuspecting victims at the mall’s toilets, said police spokesperson Captain Matthews Nkoadi.
“Victims who are visiting the mall alone are targeted by two or more suspects, who follow them to the toilets and rob them at gunpoint.
“This has been happening for the past few weeks and members of the public are warned to be vigilant at all times,” he said.
Nkoadi urged the community to ask the security guards to accompany them to the toilets.
“If shoppers feel unsafe or uncertain about their safety, they should be accompanied by security personnel,” he said.
Ga-Rankuwa police also noted that there were two suspicious vehicles cruising the streets, a red VW Polo and a Blue or Black Corsa Lite, whose occupants were allegedly involved in rapes and robberies, Nkoadi said.
