A warrant of arrest has been issued against a Pretoria North man who failed to appear in court in connection with drunk driving charges.
Wesley Roux, who is facing a separate charge of attempted murder and of assault, failed to appear in court to face a charge related to driving under the influence.
“A warrant of arrest was issued on 6 May 2019,” Petro van Staden from Van Staden Attorneys said.

Van Staden said Roux was unreachable since a new case of assault was opened against him last month.
This was separate from the attempted murder charge in which a person was allegedly attacked with a panga by Roux.
“He went missing after a new case of assault was opened against him three weeks ago.”

The assault was apparently related to an incident which took place at a Galitos restaurant.
“We have no idea where he is,” Van Staden said.
“Everyone is looking for the man,” she said.
“His phone is off and he has disabled his Facebook account.”
Roux was due to appear in the Pretoria North magistrate’s court in connection with the alleged panga attack next week.
Attempts by Rekord to get comment from Roux were unsuccessful at the time of going to press.
