Woman at home after Centurion stabbing

This was only one of three separate incidents that took place in Centurion on Friday.

A woman is recovering at home after she was stabbed during an armed house robbery in Centurion on Friday.

The robbery happened in Apiesdoring Drive in Heuweloord, according to police spokesperson Captain Augistinah Selepe,

Hannes du Buisson from Centurion Concerned Citizens said the woman had to be admitted to hospital to get stitches.

“She has been released from hospital and is recovering at home,” he said.

Selepe said one suspect attacked the woman and stabbed her during the robbery.

Two cellphones were taken.

She said a case of armed robbery was opened at the police.

She also urged anyone with more information to contact the Wierdabrug police.

This was only one of three separate incidents that took place in Centurion on Friday.

Around 07:22 in Nellmapius Drive, a person was robbed at gunpoint while sitting in traffic, Du Buisson said.

His cellphone was stolen.

“The suspects jumped into a white sedan vehicle, which fled towards the R21,” he said.

At 12:19, on the corner of John Vorster and Hendrik Verwoerd drives, a shot was fired with a rifle, suspected to be an AK47.

“The shot was fired from the passenger window of a white BMW,” he said.

“The vehicle fled towards the John Vorster off ramp and was followed by another vehicle.”

The police could not comment on the last two incidents at the time of going to press.
