A police operation in Ga-Rankuwa yielded 48 arrests at the weekend.
Ga-Rankuwa police spokesperson Captain Matthews Nkoadi said there was police visibility in Ga-Rankuwa complex and other areas.
“Suspects arrested included those sought for assault with the intent to cause bodily harm, shoplifting, intimidation, common robbery, theft, selling liquor without a licence, dealing in drugs and kidnapping, among others,” he said.
Nkoadi said all suspects were expected to appear in the Ga-Rankuwa magistrate’s court soon, while illegal immigrants would be deported by the department of home affairs.
“We urge our communities to contact our crime stop number 08600-10111 to report any crime at all times,” he said.
