The accused in the hit-and-run culpable homicide case of a Centurion teen is expected to appear in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.
Siphiwe Mahlaba is accused of the 2017 death of Ruan Viljoen.
He has appeared in court on seven previous occasions.
The most recent appearance was on 7 March.
Viljoen was found dead next to the N14 freeway in Centurion, just two weeks before his 19th birthday.

It is believed he died instantly after he was struck by a vehicle while walking along the road.
Viljoen had earlier been involved in a minor accident and his car was stuck by the side of the road.

He then left his car and went to look for help on foot and is believed to have been struck then.
Following Viljoen’s death, his parents hired a private investigator to help police with investigating his death.
These investigations eventually led to Mahlaba’s vehicle being connected to the incident.
