Police operations in Wierdabrug precinct led to the arrest of 24 people for various crimes on Tuesday.
The operation was led by the Wierdabrug police and included members of the metro police, K9 unit, CPF and different security companies.
During the day-long operation, authorities patrolled the different malls and shopping centres in the area, according to police spokesperson Captain Agnes Huma.

Huma said together with stop-and-searches, police handed out pamphlets as part of increasing awareness on visible policing.
“During the course of the day police arrested 24 suspects aged between 18 and 42 years,” Huma said.
“They were arrested for various crimes including dealing in drugs and possession of drugs.”
Huma also confirmed the arrest of two suspects for dealing in drugs in Rooihuiskraal on Monday.
Wierdabrug sector 2 CPF together with private security officials assisted with the arrest.
Those arrested will appear in court soon.
Meanwhile, station commander Colonel Samuel Makama thanked all those involved in the operation for their hard work and effort.
