Police have arrested a man believed to be linked to several thefts out of motor vehicles in Centurion.
The arrest took place at the corner of Rabie and Sullivan streets on Tuesday afternoon.
The Lyttelton police tracing team were patrolling the area when they spotted a black Audi 1 with a silver roof.
The vehicle had been linked to theft out of motor vehicle cases in the past, according to police spokesperson Captain Dave Miller.
“Our members searched the vehicle and immediately found a device used for remote jamming,” said Miller.
Suspected stolen property was also found in the vehicle.
“The driver of the vehicle was arrested at the scene.

“We are currently investigating the possibility of linking him to other similar crimes in the area.”
Miller said the area had become a hotspot in terms of theft out of motor vehicle crimes.
The same black Audi had been linked to an arrest in March of 2017.
“There have been arrests linked to it in Lyttelton and Garsfontein in the past.”
The man was expected to appear in court soon on charges of theft out of a motor vehicle and possession of suspected stolen property.
