A Sinoville man has been charged with murder for allegedly stabbing his mother, before setting her body alight in his backyard on Friday.
“He stabbed his mother on the pavement,” police spokesperson Warrant Officer Johan van Dyk said.
After allegedly killing his mother, the man apparently proceed to drag her body to the backyard.
“Then he left to buy food and petrol,” said Van Dyk.

The man then proceeded to set his mother’s body alight upon his return.
The police were notified of the grisly crime by a private security company after a neighbour and friends contacted them when they saw the bloodied pavement.
Van Dyk said the victim was scheduled to leave on a getaway with her friends on the day of her murder.
“The man will appear in court soon,” Van Dyk said.
