East teenager organises successful fun day
“If you're not too young, aspire but you're never too young to inspire”
A Miss Teenager SA 1st princess has recently organised the first annual Sandpaper Victors awareness fun day.
Grade 9 learner Oratilwe Mashigo (15) of Nellmapius Extension 7 said her event was held at Central Sports ground, Mamelodi West on 22 June to raise the awareness of Sandpapers Victors, celebrate Youth month and most importantly to officially introduce her to locals.
The event was held under the theme “If you’re not too young aspire to them but you’re never too young to inspire”.
“We want the community especially the youth to start doing something positive about their life because we are the future leaders of this country.”
She encouraged the youth to stay away from drugs and crime rather participate in sport.
Oratilwe was helped by her mother Theresa Mashigo to organise the event attended by the representatives of the City of Tshwane and other local non-profit organisations.
The community members of Mamelodi entertained themselves by taking part in different sporting activities such as soccer, netball and senior aerobics.
