A motorist was injured after his car caught fire at the Daspoort tunnel in the west of Pretoria on Saturday afternoon.
The car was involved in an accident before it caught fire at around 13:47, according to Tshwane emergency services spokesperson Charles Mabaso.
“It is not clear how the vehicle caught fire,” said Mabaso, adding that it was the only vehicle on scene.

He said the man was transported to a nearby hospital by private ambulance, while the Tshwane emergency services’ fire and rescue operations battled the blaze.
The fire was extinguished and the scene was cleared.
