VIDEO: Eighth Moot sidewalk warrior announced

The eighth winner of the competition was announced earlier this week.

It seems that a unique Moot competition is making a difference in the community.

This recently became known during the announcement of the eighth sidewalk of the month competition winner in Capital Park.

“Everyone in the community already knows about the competition,” said Donne-Li Johnson of Real One Real Estate Agents.

“When I approach the winners, they immediately know what I’m talking about.”

Johnson hands over the trophy to the winners each month.

She said she believed that it encouraged residents to participate in the competition by keeping their sidewalks and front yards neat.

“It’s always nice to win a competition,” she says.

“I believe in the long run this competition will make a big difference in the area.”

The eighth winner was announced earlier this week.

Brown said she has been living in Capital Park for 47 years.

“I love the community and have made many memories in the house over the years,” she said.

The sidewalk of the month competition is the brainchild of the Capital Park Residents and Ratepayers’ Association (Caprra).

The first winner of the competition was announced on 1 May last year.
