NEWSFLASH: Motorist airlifted following Erasmia crash
The driver was thrown from his car as it rolled.
A man had to be airlifted from an accident scene following a head-on collision on the M26 near Erasmia on Friday afternoon.
The accident happened just before 16:00 and involved two vehicles, according to Safe-T-Med spokesperson Ebrahim Bockrat.
“Paramedics arrived at the scene to find that one of the vehicles had rolled and the driver had been ejected from it,” said Bockrat.
“The driver had sustained critical injuries.”
While stabilising the driver, paramedics called for an emergency helicopter which then rushed the man to Milpark hospital in Johannesburg.
“Four others sustained only moderate injuries and were transported to Kalafong hospital by ambulance.”
