UPDATE: Silver lining for north tot after cancer treatment
The toddler's cancerous tumour was removed in an 11-hour surgery earlier this year.

The toddler from the north of Pretoria diagnosed with neuroblastoma cancer has completed his radiation treatment just in time for his third birthday.
“He is now officially done with his main treatment,” Teagan van Wyk’s excited mother Maggie told Rekord.
She even told Rekord her little “Superman” would be receiving his certificate for winning the battle against the disease during a party at the Steve Biko Academic Hospital later this month.
“On 27 August we’re attending a party where our Superman will ring the bell,” van Wyk said.

Subsequently, the toddler underwent months of chemotherapy and radiation.
According to Mayoclinic.org, neuroblastoma develops from immature nerve cells in several areas of the body.
It most often arises in and around the adrenal glands, which have similar origins to nerve cells and sit atop the kidneys.
It can also develop in other areas of the abdomen, the chest, neck and near the spine, where groups of nerve cells exist.
