Cable theft causes power trip in the north

It is estimated that repairs would be concluded around 17:00 today.

A power failure at the Doornpoort substation has seen parts of Sinoville, Montana and Doornpoort without electricity on Friday morning.

Tshwane metro spokesperson Lindela Mashigo said technicians were attending to an 11kV trip at Doornpoort substation.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the trip was caused by theft of main feeder cables and it is estimated that repairs would be concluded around 17:00 today.

All residents affected by power failures should report it at Customer Care Centres on 012-358-999 or SMS the word “power” to 44676, Mashigo added.
