NEWSFLASH: Man airlifted after Jet Ski accident at Bon Accord

“His injuries included a base skull fracture, head injuries, as well as possible spine and chest injuries.”

A man had to be airlifted from the Bon Accord dam area after he sustained multiple injuries in a Jet Ski accident on Friday evening.

Life Med ambulance service paramedics arrived at the scene at around 19:30.

“The man, believed to be 45 years of age, had sustained serious injuries as a result of the accident,” said Life Med spokesperson Renata Erasmus.

“His injuries included a base skull fracture, head injuries, as well as possible spine and chest injuries.”

“Due to the extent of the man’s injuries a Netcare helicopter was called to airlift the man to a Johannesburg hospital.”

Erasmus said the circumstances surrounding the accident, including its cause, was unknown at this stage.
