East starlet (5) shines as she wins second pageant

This little future beauty diva is well on her way to making big strides in the world of pageants.

Little Zinhle Noluthando Buthelezi, a five-year-old aspiring beauty “queen” is starting small, but making her mark, as she recently won the Face of Nemash competition and was crowned 1st Princess of 2019.

This was, however, not Zinhle’s first time on the catwalk. Last year, she took home the first prize in the Mini Miss Nellmapius 2018 competition, at the young age of four.

“She’s five now, and she’s already addressed as ‘future Miss SA’ by her friends,” says Zinhle’s mother, Princess Thandiwe Faith Phora.

“Her interest in pageants started at a young age when she would walk around in my heels at home. She was very passionate, even for such a young child. I decided to enter her into our local modelling pageant to build up her confidence, not knowing she would be crowned Mini Miss Nellmapius 2018.”

Zinhle is not only strikingly adorable, overflowing with self-confidence, she also likes the attention and feedback she gets when she performs in these pageants.

“She likes it when younger girls look up to her, and want to do what she does,” Princess explains.

“For these young ones, beauty pageants are still very innocent and basic. When they walk on the catwalk, they have to show off their style, their passion for fashion and they usually have to give a quick introduction on themselves, explaining what they like to do, where they come from etc. They’re also usually asked a question, and their then judged based on all of that.”

“Along with her 1st Princess win, she also walked away with the Face of Nemash Director’s Choice 2019, Best Influencer of 2019 and Public Choice Award of 2019. We are extremely proud of her and can’t wait to see what she achieves in future,” Princess concludes.
