Spiritual leaders hope for a better Moot

This group is part of the Christ for Moot vir Christus (CMC) movement, which was started in 2001 under the leadership of the well-known church leader and motivator Dr Johan Pienaar.

An enthusiastic group of spiritual leaders in the Moot recently gathered around a breakfast table in a restaurant to share their dreams for the area.

The group, part of the Christ for Moot vir Christus (CMC) movement, was founded in 2001, under the leadership of well-known church leader and motivator Dr Johan Pienaar and represent numerous local churches.

Under the slogan “Together we are better” the group emphasised the importance of the network of churches, schools and the community, said spokesperson Herman Bouwer.

He said CMC focused on partnerships with organisations and ministries such as the police, HospiVisie, trauma counselling, Echo Youth Development and Eléhos, has been expanded.

“CMC also aims to become involved in the upliftment and physical, social and spiritual well-being of the people of Melgisedek, who have been living in extremely harsh conditions for many years,” he said.

CMC leader Japie Venter of the Doxa Deo congregation in Môregloed, encouraged the other leaders to strive to meet a new challenge: Give the Moot back to God.

“It is agreed that effective communication and co-operation in all areas of the Moot is essential,” Bouwer said.
