Total Covid-19 cases in SA rise to 45 973
The number of confirmed cases increased by 2 539 since Friday and 44 more people have died.

South Africa now has a total of 45 973 confirmed Covid-19 cases, the Department of Health announced on Saturday, 6 June 2020.
This is an increase of 2 539 new infections from Friday.
And 44 more deaths have been recorded, bringing the total number of coronavirus-related deaths in the country to 952.
According to data released by the Department of Health, a total of 24 258 recoveries have been recorded to date. This translates to a recovery rate of about 52.8%.
A total of 850 871 Covid-19 tests have been conducted.
The following confirmed Covid-19 cases have been detected in each province, according to the data released on Saturday:
– Western Cape: 30 379 cases
– Gauteng: 5 626 cases
– KwaZulu-Natal: 3 016 cases
– Eastern Cape: 5 629 cases
– Limpopo: 216 cases
– Mpumalanga: 181 cases
– North West: 468 cases
– Northern Cape: 105 cases
– Free State: 348 cases
– Unallocated: 5 cases
