Wierdabrug police station shuts doors as officer tests positive for Covid-19

“The community is advised to call 10111 for all emergencies and complaints which needs to be attended by Wierdabrug police station.”

The Wierdabrug police station has temporarily closed after an officer tested positive for Covid-19 on Tuesday.

Police spokesperson Brigadier Mathapelo Peters said there would, however, be a community service centre operating from Cert-SA in The Reeds, 52 Rooihuiskraal Road, Kolgans Park building.

She said the telephone lines at Wierdabrug police station community service centre would not be accessible for the duration of the closure.

“The community is advised to call 10111 for all emergencies and complaints which needs to be attended by Wierdabrug police station.”

Peters said the building would undergo decontamination “soon”, and the community would be informed when the station would be operational again.

“The SAPS management apologises for any inconvenience that may arise from this.”

She said residents could also contact the station commander for queries on 071-686-7562 or the relief commander on 071-675-6459/071-675-6462.
