North family desperately looking for daughter

Seven days after her disappearance the family went to open a missing person case at Rietgat police station.

A family from Soshanguve was left devastated after their sister, Koketso Thiboeng, disappeared. Koketso Thiboeng (16) was last seen on 29 June, in the morning at around 11:30. Grandmother Martha Lubisi said she was last seen when she went to visit her sister in Mamelodi.

She never reached her destination. Koketso was last seen wearing a green and white knitted jersey with blue jeans and white shoes.

She speaks Sepedi, is short in height, has brown skin and black hair. She has no tattoos or piercings.

“We were shocked as she never got to her sister’s house. When she did not return home, we tried contacting her to check if she was okay, but she did not reply,” she said.

Lubisi said they contacted all her friends and family members to check whether any of them saw her, but she was nowhere to be found.

She said Koketso was not a talkative person, she liked watching movies and always helped around the house.

“We made missing person alert posters that we posted on every corner around our area and in every local shop so that people can help us find her,” said Lubisi.

Seven days after her disappearance the family went to open a missing person case at Rietgat police station on 6 July. Captain Stephen Maluleke confirmed that a case was opened at Rietgat police station.

“The case is still under investigation and we are working very hard to find the woman. We searched on local hospitals and mortuaries, but she is not yet found,” said Maluleke.
