Gauteng reaches 62% Covid-19 recoveries, surpassing the 100 000 mark
The department reports that 4 804 people are currently hospitalised in public and private facilities in the province.

Gauteng Covid-19 recoveries have reached 62 percent of the 164 548 recorded cases thus far, leaving the province with 62 029 active cases.
Department of Health spokesperson Kwara Kekana said the department was encouraged by the surge in Covid-19 recoveries in the province.
The overall tally of confirmed Covid-19 cases as of Tuesday stood at 164 548, with 102 519 recoveries and a total of 1 680 deaths thus far.
The department reported on Wednesday that, out of 74 106 contacts traced (individuals who were in contact with a person who tested positive for Covid-19), 53 677 people have completed the 14 days monitoring period, with no symptoms, reported and were de-isolated.
The department said 4 804 people were currently hospitalised in public and private facilities.

– Johannesburg: 69 055 cases and 46 830 recoveries
– Ekurhuleni: 36 755 and 28 315 recoveries
– Tshwane: 32 036 cases and 15 959 recoveries
– Sedibeng: 10 466 cases and 4 082 recoveries
– West Rand: 10 841 cases and 7 333 recoveries

And 91 unallocated cases.
On the repeated areas in the stats, the department has not yet clarified on why these suburbs were mentioned more than once.
