Eldoraigne residents urged to use water sparingly

“Repair of the pipe is completed and the team is now working on restoring water to Eldoraigne,” Tshwane metro.

The Tshwane metro has urged Eldoraigne residents to use water sparingly after water supply to the neighbourhood was restored on Saturday afternoon.

This was after as the area experienced a water outage because of maintenance work by the metro.

Tshwane metro spokesperson Lindela Mashigo said the repair of the water pipe was completed Saturday and the metro team was restoring the supply.

Mashigo pleaded to the community to use water sparingly as the pipe was “still sensitive” and massive water pressure might jeopardise any work done.

“Just for the first couple of houses after the restoration of water, we ask for people not to use too much water because this might jeopardise the network,” he said.

“We ask the residents to give some time for the pressure to build up first.”

Former ward councillor Cindy Billson confirmed that water was restored in the area.

“We are very happy to have the water back; it is an important necessity, especially nowadays. However, we do wish it was restored much sooner,” she said.

Resident Rina van Niekerk was also happy with the restoration of the water in the area.

“Although the water is a bit slow right now, we are very grateful.”
