Local girl missing for two weeks

“We have searched for her everywhere with no luck.”

Mamelodi East police are seeking the community’s assistance in finding a missing 14-year-old girl who was last seen over two weeks ago.

Boipelo Portia Kgosana from Mamelodi West Section 2, a grade 8 learner at Vlakfontein Secondary school, was last seen on 13 October coming back from school.

She had changed from her school uniform into regular clothes.

Her mother, Lesego Kgosana, said that on the day she went missing she was wearing a light brown jacket, blue jeans and she had long cornrow braiding which she tied up.

Kgosana said she was worried because her daughter was nowhere to be found and there were rumours that she was busy looking for a place to stay with an unknown friend.

“We don’t suspect anything that might have made her disappear.

“We have searched everywhere to her friends place but could not find her,” said her mother.

“We are very worried about her because we searched for her almost everywhere.

“I hardly sleep at night wondering where she is. I manage to get some food down, and I am trying not to assume the worst, but with things happening to young girls, it’s really hard not to.”

Mamelodi East police spokesperson Captain Johannes Maheso said the mother reported her child missing on the 20 October at the station and a missing person case was opened.

Maheso urged anyone with information on Boipelo’s whereabouts to contact her mother Lerato on 079-601-1844 or the investigating officer Colonel Ramoshaba on 082-491-5788 or the Mamelodi West police station.
