Hijacked north woman found, recovering in hospital

She was hijacked and found on the N1 highway.

Rietgat police confirmed that a 28-year-old woman who went missing on Sunday was found.

Pulane Mpho was reported missing after she left her home to attend a rally in Pretoria West.

“She was hijacked and found on the N1 highway. She’s alive and currently recovering at the Jubilee hospital,” said police spokesperson Captain Stephen Maluleka.

On Thursday afternoon, a photo of a woman, believed to be Pulani, was circulated on social media. The woman could be seen lying on the ground, appearing distressed.

Maluleka has since confirmed that the woman in the photo was indeed Pulane.

According to police, her hijacked bakkie was recovered in Mamelodi.

Pulane’s family confirmed to Rekord that she was found yesterday, but could not provide further details on what happened to her.
