Joburg’s new mayor Jolidee Matongo dies in car crash

Matongo was the City of Johannesburg’s MMC for finance before he had been elected unopposed as mayor on August 10.

Eighth suspect in SANDF vehicle-smuggling case granted bail
The Hawks on Wednesday (September 15) confirmed that an eighth suspect has been arrested in connection with a vehicle smuggling operation conducted between 2019 and 2020. The SANDF member was arrested during a continuous sting operation dubbed ‘Night Vigil’.

Stolen sheep found inside Toyota Quantum

Eighteen stolen sheep were found squeezed into a Toyota Quantum, while the driver and passengers ran away. A total of 77 stolen sheep were recovered in this incident.
