Rainy weather leaves parts of Tshwane left without power
Situation was made worse by loadshedding since the metro’s artisans and technicians are not allowed on the network during loadshedding for safety reasons.
Tshwane metro technicians were hard at work to restore power in various parts of the city that were left without any power by the rainy weather on Monday.
“The situation has resulted in a massive restoration backlog,” said metro spokesperson Lindela Mashigo.

This backlog was made worse by loadshedding since the metro’s artisans and technicians were not allowed on the network during loadshedding for safety reasons.
To tackle the backlog speedily, he said the metro had since deployed “maximum resources” to affected areas.
“Technicians were grouped according to areas of deployment to reduce travelling distances between service requests, thus shortening the restoration time,” Mashigo said.
He further said they were committed to ensuring residents’ power was restored as quickly as possible.
“We apologise profusely for the inconvenience caused,” Mashigo said.
