Decomposed body of woman found in Soshanguve

“Reports claimed the woman was married to a 50-year-old man who allegedly committed suicide in Block HH West of Soshanguve on Thursday."

Rietgat police have opened an inquest docket after the decomposed body of a woman in her 50s was found in Soshanguve Block VV on Thursday.

The woman was found inside a house after a passer-by noticed a large number of flies in the windows.

Rietgat police spokesperson, Captain Stephen Maluleka, said the passer-by stopped a police vehicle that was also passing to help investigate the scene.

“Subsequently, the police entered the house by breaking down the door to gain entry. They found the deceased lying in the bedroom. They also found the contact details of her mother-in-law who came and identified her at the scene.

“Preliminary investigation suggests that the woman was residing at the address and she is presumed to be in her mid-50s.”

Maluleka said due to her state of decomposition, it was difficult to determine the cause of death but a postmortem will solve the mystery.

“Reports claimed the woman was married to a man who allegedly committed suicide on Thursday.”
