Miss Teen Pretoria crowned in Centurion
“The pageant is open to young girls from ages 13 to 19 years, and from the outskirts of Pretoria irrespective of race, religion, creed, size, or shape.”
Miss Teen Pretoria 2021/22 was crowned last week at Hoërskool Uitsig in Centurion.
The beauty pageant was hosted by Seganye Philanthropic Foundation (SFP).
Tenisha Gounder (17) from The Reeds, and also a learner at the school, was crowned Miss Teen Pretoria 2021/22. She has also recently won the Miss Face of Ace Models Johannesburg South 2021.
“The Miss Teen Pretoria is a beauty pageant that focuses on educational upliftment, youth empowerment, philanthropic activities and community development and aims to empower the girl child,” said her proud father, Lee Gounder.
“The pageant is open to young girls from the age 13 to 19, from the outskirts of Pretoria irrespective of race, religion, creed, size or shape.”
He said Tenisha also walked away with four other titles: Miss Beauty with a Purpose, Miss Debutante, Miss Philanthropy and Face of Miss Teen Pretoria first runner-up.
“Throughout the journey, Tenisha, together with other contestants, donated 650 sanitary pads to the MH Baloyi secondary school as part of their philanthropic work.”
Tenisha said: “I am very excited and proud to wear the Miss Teen Pretoria crown. I am humbled and thankful for the support that I received from the public. This win gives me the platform to continue my philanthropic duties. I will never forget this incredible moment.”
Spokesperson for Hoërskool Uitsig, Manda Besters, said the school was “very proud of Tenisha”.
“Not only has she won two beauty pageants, but she is also very hard working and conscientious. She has a lovely nature, is always friendly, and ready to assist.
“We are especially proud of her hard work during these two beauty pageants to raise funds to support various charity organisations.”
