Another armed robbery at Centurion mall
“We believe the business involved was Incredible Connections, and that five men and a white Hilux bakkie was involved.”
Yet another shop was robbed at gunpoint at Centurion mall yesterday.
A Centurion mall spokesperson confirmed “an armed robbery took place yesterday on the mall’s premises”.
“No shots were fired,” he said.
“The safety of our customers, tenants and employees is a priority and the centre management remains committed to assisting the investigations in any way possible.”
Captain Dave Miller, spokesperson for Lyttelton police, said at approximately 12:00 five armed suspects entered Incredible Connections and held up staff and customers.
“The Centurion mall security staff were alerted to the situation and immediately notified all role players. Unfortunately by the time the emergency services arrived on scene the suspects left the premises. They fled the scene in a white Toyota Hilux bakkie.
“They got away with cellphones, laptops and cash, it is not known what the value is of the stolen goods is at this stage. We are following up all available leads, and would like to remind our community to be extra vigilant and report any suspicious activity to security and the police.”
Rekord reported last month that the owner of a jewellery shop, Mark Kopelowitz, was gunned down at Centurion mall during an armed robbery.
He was fatally shot when he unknowingly walked into his store, Kays Family Jewellers, while the robbers were on their way out.
