Police launch manhunt for three Sosh armed robbers

Rietgat police are investigating a case of house robbery after three men stormed into a yard in Soshanguve block BB and held the family hostage before fleeing with valuables.

Rietgat police spokesperson, Captain Stephen Maluleka, said the incident happened on Monday evening around 19:20.

Maluleka said according to the information received, three perpetrators stormed into a yard and found the complainant’s daughter outside the house throwing rubbish in the bin, and they held her at gunpoint.

“As the complainant heard her daughter screaming, she went to check but was also held at gunpoint by another suspect. They were pushed to the bedroom where they were tied with shoelaces and electrical cord together with the woman’s sister who was also in the house at the time.”

Maluleka said the men searched the house and made off with two laptops (Lenovo and Acer), two cellphones (Samsung A30 and A32), Samsung tablet 4 and an undisclosed amount of cash.

He said the men also took bank cards, spare car keys and the house keys which they also used to lock them inside the house before fleeing the scene.

“No one was injured during the robbery and no shots were fired. A manhunt has been launched to put the perpetrators behind bars.
