Help police find a missing 48-year-old man

“We have searched for him everywhere with no luck.”

Mamelodi East police and a Nellmapius family are seeking help from the public in finding their brother who has been missing for almost two weeks.

Thagodi Erasmus Mohlala (48) from Nellmapius ext. 24 went missing on November 9.

Police spokesperson Constable Lethabo Mashiloane confirmed that they were investigating a missing person’s case and the police is appealing to the public to assist them with any information regarding the whereabouts of Mohlala.

“Thagodi Erasmus Mohlala was last seen by his nephew Cable on November 9,” said Mashiloane.

During the time of his disappearance, he was wearing a blue Orlando Pirates tracksuit.

His sister Juliet said her brother was seen by his tenants on November 8 when he told his tenants he was going home to Limpopo, but then he never came back.

“We were not aware that he was missing. It came to our attention that something was wrong because we always found him on his cellphone but it was off,” she said.

“We went to his place and found tenants who told us they last saw him going home to Limpopo and transport was waiting for him outside his yard,” said sister.

Unfortunately, the tenants could not see the driver or give the description of the car.

“It is unlike my brother to go missing for days without telling us about his whereabouts.

“We asked neighbours about my brother but they said it has been days since they last saw him.

“We searched everywhere. We went to the hospitals, around town and the government mortuary. We also contacted friends and relatives, including my younger brother in Limpopo, but nobody knows where he is.”

Mashiloane added that there was no waiting period to report a missing person.

Anyone who might know Erasmus’ whereabouts is requested to call the police on the following numbers: Mamelodi East SAPS: 012 815 7000, Crime Stop: 08600 10111 or his sister Juliet on 079 418 0397.
