Two men arrested for murder in Marry Me informal settlement

"We have seen an increase in the number of murders being reported at the station."

Two men were arrested in the Marry Me informal settlement in Soshanguve on Tuesday for allegedly stabbing a man to death.

He was stabbed after an argument ensued between the three on Sunday, said police spokesperson Constable Nhlanhla Zondi.

Details were, however, sketchy.

“The victim succumbed to his injuries in Dr George Mukhari Academic hospital on Tuesday,” said Zondi.

“A murder case was then reported to the police and investigations led to the arrest on the same day.”

Zondi said there has been an increase in the number of murder cases being reported at the station.

“The arrest of these suspects shows that we are on the ground trying to fight whichever crimes there are in the area.”

He said the suspects were set to appear before the Pretoria North magistrate’s court on Thursday on murder charges.
