Suspect nabbed for killing two men after setting shack on fire in Hammanskraal
"The suspect allegedly set the shack on fire while the victims were sleeping inside.
Police in the north of Pretoria arrested a 22-year-old man after he allegedly set a shack with two people inside on fire.
The incident happened in Mogogelo village in Hammanskraal in the early hours of Monday morning.
Police spokesperson Maria Nkabinde said after a commotion at a local tavern the victims went home after which the suspect allegedly set the victim’s shack on fire.
“The suspect allegedly set the shack on fire while the victims were sleeping inside.
“Medical services officials were called to the scene and the victims were both certified dead.
“Preliminary investigations were conducted and led to the apprehension of the suspect on the same day.”
Nkabinde said the man was expected to appear before the Moretele magistrate’s court in Temba.
