Police hunt gunmen that robbed Centurion petrol station

A gang of heavily armed gunmen robbed two petrol stations on Wednesday, November 16, in Eldo Glen Centurion

A gang of heavily armed gunmen robbed two petrol stations on Wednesday, November 16, in Eldo Glen Centurion.

Sergeant DT Nkuna of Wierdabrug police confirmed the incident to Rekord, saying that five men robbed the BP garage at 21:15 on November 16.

“One man pointed a gun at the cashier at the Pick n Pay Express, ordering her to open the cash register.”

She and her co-worker were then made to lie down on the floor.

Nkuna said that the robbers made off with an undisclosed amount from the cash register, as well as cash and a cellphone from a customer in the store.

One of the victims said that the suspects escaped in a white or grey vehicle.

The video shows the gunmen raiding the cash register at the Pick n Pay express at Eldo Glen while an employee ducks in fear.

The robbers then make their escape after holding employees at gunpoint and helping themselves to the contents of the cash register.

Police have not found the suspects at this stage and are calling for anyone with more information to come forward.

Reports alleged a similar incident took place in Silvertondale on the same night where the group robbed a filling station but the police had yet to confirm the two incidents were related at the time of publishing.
