Midstream attorney taking message to international stage
Natasha Mohunlal wants to show other women that you can be a mother, celebrate womanhood and find professional success all at the same time while overcoming your past.

A Centurion local attorney is on a mission to prove that one’s past is no reason to stop them from reaching their dreams in the future.
Natasha Mohunlal was recently named Influential Woman of the Year at a glitzy event in Cape Town and brand ambassador for the awards at the Durban leg of the event at the end of May.
The Influential Women & Artes awards celebrates the achievements and contributions of women who are making a significant impact in their respective industries.

The contest takes place in Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg, with the Johannesburg leg coming in September.
Not letting the momentum fade, Mohunlal has just been nominated as one of the contestants in Mrs India Worldwide, where she will be representing South Africa in early 2024 to try to nab the title.
Mohunlal told Rekord that she wanted to dedicate her titles to empowering other women.
She wants to show other women that one can be a mother, celebrate womanhood and find professional success all at the same time while overcoming their past.
“I want to get to a point where we can help women from the point of view of women, not in the context of men,” she said.

Mohunlal said that her journey started with the birth of her first child.
Following a series of events including complications in the birth of her first child that saw her almost lose her life and a serious accident that resulted in a severely broken elbow, Mohunlal wanted to take charge of her own life.
She told Rekord that she had to fight tooth and nail to built her career at a prestigious law firm to where it is now.
She resigned from her corporate job and faced a year of no work due to contractual obligations.
With a range of experience from working her way through the corporate structure at her previous employer, she knew that she had what it takes, but also knew the challenge before her.
During the period of no work, Mohunlal spent her time carefully planning and preparing to receive her first client.

Armed with her past, she set out to dominate with women empowerment her priority.
Her perseverance paid off, and following the work she did for a client, the client nominated her for the Influential Woman of the Year Award.
Inspired by the award, she has done work with entrepreneurs, where she aims to help young business owners develop their brand and build their business. She makes it her aim to uplift others, mentoring other women to achieve their goals.
She spends her time stepping in where she can and advising where she can’t, determined to use her story to build those around her up.
Mohunlal said that she doesn’t want to reinvent womanhood rather motivate others to find a way for their womanhood to stand on its own.
“You can live the dreams without giving up who you are.”
