Almal is Mal! – September 8

Author, comedian and social media sensation, Mel the Storyteller, is coming to the Centurion Theatre to share her quick sharp humour.

With a sold-out debut earlier in 2023, Mel is now touring South Africa.

Mel shares her experiences in London as a 21-year-old conservative girl and how she quickly realised that everyone in the world is actually crazy – some just hide it much better than others.

Afrikaans in Styl – September 9

A celebration of the good, the bad, differences, similarities and initiative, Afrikaans in Styl is back this spring.

Featuring Spoegwolf, Elvis Blue, Corlea and Nataniël, who will share a stage with 15 musicians led by music director and Steinway pianist, Charl du Plessis. The event is a showcase of style and excellence.

Catch the show at Sunbet Arena on Saturday from 19:00.

Bread festival – September 9

The NG church Montana is having a bread festival, and the whole family is invited.

The NG Montana Broodfees boasts a variety of bread to taste and buy, with various market stalls and a playpark for the children.

Browse the breads on offer from 08:00 to 13:00 on Saturday at 300 Veronica Road.

Oktoberfest – September 15 and 16

The Deutsche Internationale Schule Pretoria is hosting its 45th Oktoberfest based on the original Oktoberfest in München, Germany.

Guests will be entertained by Oompah band Innkreis Buam, who is travelling to South Africa all the way from Europe, alongside a line-up of musicians including 4AM, Maeztro and The Morning After Band.

There will be a variety of beers to choose from that will satisfy even the most critical of beer connoisseur’s palate.

Germany’s food culture will also be on full display, with highlights such as eisbein, kassler, bockwurst, brezel and many other options.

Oktoberfest starts at 17:00 on Friday and ends at 23:30 on Saturday.

Wonderboom-Suid Festival – September 16

The NG church of Wonderboom South is hosting a Strawberry Carnival for an unforgettable festival.

On offer will be all the usual stalls with delicious food, including strawberry smoothies made from the freshest strawberries.

Go home with export-quality strawberries sold at giveaway prices.

Join the community from 07:00, running throughout the day at 920 Twelfth Avenue.
