Possibility of late afternoon thunderstorms in Pretoria on Saturday

Cloudy and cold weather conditions are expected to persist on Saturday in Pretoria with a chance of thunderstorms going into the evening.
This was according to the SA Weather Service (SAWS), which predicted that conditions are expected to clear on Sunday. SAWS forecaster Lulama Menze said Pretoria will experience cloudy conditions with chances of isolated showers and thundershowers until Saturday evening.
Menze said as the cold air passes it is expected to cause a temperature drop. “Cold conditions will invade the central parts of the inland and cause the maximum temperatures to drop slightly.”
Menze added that there’s a 30% rain chance probability, with maximum temperatures expected to reach 21°C while the minimum will be 14°C.
Menze said, however, temperatures are expected to slightly improve on Sunday, with the maximum reaching 25°C, with most clear weather conditions with 0% rain probability.
“We will continue to monitor any further developments relating to this weather system and will issue subsequent updates as required,” said Menze.
