Car, truck crash in Centurion, man airlifted to hospital

The patient in his 20s was found to be extensively entrapped within the wreckage of the car.

A young man has been airlifted to hospital following a head-on collision between a car and a truck on the R114 in Mnandi, Centurion.

Emer-G-Med spokesperson Kyle van Reenen said the incident happened on Friday morning.

“Earlier this morning, Emer-G-Med paramedics responded to the R114 scene of a serious motor vehicle collision.”

Van Reenen said the victim was a man believed to be in his 20s.

He said a truck had collided with multiple vehicles before the head-on crashing with the car and leaving the roadway.

“The man became entrapped within the wreckage of his car.”

He said the man was stabilised, and extricated from his car. A decision was made to airlift him to a specialist facility.
