The charges included unlicensed liquor selling, possession of drugs, public drinking and immigration contravention.

Police also visited Lotus Secondary School with the coordinator of the Department of Community Safety and NPO, Changing The World, along with crime prevention wardens.

The station commander reminded the learners that possession of dagga and dangerous weapons was not allowed at school, and to stay focused on their studies as well as avoid involvement in criminal activity.

Furthermore, the learners were informed about bullying and safety around the school, including the consequences of being arrested as it leads to a criminal record and how it can affect admission into tertiary education.
