Sadag launching online support group for women living with endometriosis
The group will first meet this Saturday and every second Saturday thereafter.
The South African Depression and Anxiety Group (Sadag) is launching a new online support group for women living with endometriosis on Saturday, March 16.
The South African Depression and Anxiety Group (Sadag) says it is pleased to launch “Hope-In-Endo” as endometriosis affects millions of women worldwide.
The support group meetings led by Raeesah Ismail will be online using Google Meet, allowing participation from anywhere. The first session will take place on March 16 from 09:00 to 10:00 and thereafter, meetings will follow the same schedule every second Saturday.
Endometriosis is a disease that affects the uterus and can cause severe pain in the pelvis and make it harder to get pregnant.
“Despite its prevalence, many people struggle to find adequate support and resources to manage the condition effectively. Endometriosis is a lonely condition to have. Sometimes your support system is not your family or friends, but someone who understands because they are also going through it,” Ismail says.
“Members can expect a supportive and understanding environment where they can share their experiences, learn from one another, and access valuable resources to better manage their condition,” she said.
