Young farmers and agripreneurs come together at indaba to share ideas
Described as Africa’s most prominent gathering of young farmers and agripreneurs, the event featured a line-up of leading young agricultural minds.
The Mzansi Young Farmers Indaba was held at Lavender Kontrei Mark in Pretoria North from April 4 – 6.
The event, described as Africa’s most prominent gathering of young farmers and agripreneurs, was all about networking.
Lana Roux from the market said it was presented by Food for Mzansi.
She said it boasted an exhilarating line-up of South Africa’s foremost young agricultural minds, alongside 50 agriculture-related exhibitions and six masterclasses.
Other activities at the market included the Boerboel dog show, riding the mechanical bull, kids’ entertainment and line dancers.
The Boerboel dog show was held on Saturday, with the aim of promoting educational programmes, exercises, and training courses for this breed.
Owners and breeders entered their dogs in different classes, based on factors such as muscle tone, health of the coat, height, general appearance and discipline.
“Lavender Kontrei Mark is a family-orientated market that offers a variety of arts, crafts, and food stalls with great entertainment for the day,” said Roux.
She said the market will host a community day later this month to enable the public to come and meet people in their local community providing exceptional services and to see how they can get involved.
The event will be attended by all stakeholders, including police.
