Wardens join Hercules fight against crime

The CPF says that an additional 18 wardens will be joining the 12 soon.

In its latest crime-fighting effort, the Hercules CPF has announced that 12 new crime prevention wardens will be assisting in enhancing community safety.

The CPF said soon an additional 18 wardens will join the 12 deployed on April 7.

The members who are a part of the provincial Department of Community Safety initiative will be deployed to various hotspots within the community.

“The introduction of these wardens is a proactive step towards addressing the recent increase in crime and ensuring the well-being of all residents,” said Annelien Harvey of the Hercules CPF executive committee.

“Their presence in our community will serve as a visible deterrent to potential criminals and will provide an additional layer of security to complement the efforts of our law enforcement agencies. It is important to emphasise that these wardens are here to support and work collaboratively with our community members.”

The wardens will be actively engaged in crime prevention initiatives, patrolling streets and responding to concerns raised by residents.

Hercules residents are urged to welcome, integrate and support the wardens in their communities and maintain solid lines of communication.

“I extend my heartfelt thanks to the Hercules SAPS for their continued dedication to ensuring the safety and security of our community. Your unwavering commitment is truly commendable and greatly appreciated,” Harvey concluded.

On April 2, the Hercules CPF issued a warning to Suiderberg residents of suspicious cars in the area after two incidents, including a kidnapping, were reported.
